Heat 5 - Lyons v Smart v Ashworth v ParsonsLee Smart giving a fine account of himself by battling it out with Ricky Ashworth for first and second places. This tussle was vital as Jason Lyons had fallen in the first running of this race and had been excluded, so it was left to Lee to salvage points from this race, in which he eventually finished second to Ashworth.

Heat 6 - Birkinshaw v Mills v Compton v HughesJames Birkinshaw and Chris Mills seen team riding here, before Compton (out of picture) who was the tactical substitute, riding from a handicap, was able to get past Birko for a 4-4 shared heat.

Heat 8 - Mills v Birkinshaw v Parsons v SmethillsChris Mills seen here ahead of Parsons, with Birko just behind in third place. It wouldn't be long after this that Birko got past Parsons to secure maximum points for the Brummies.
