Heat 3 - Lyons v Bunyan v Nieminen v HainesKauko Nieminen has often done well at Perry Barr and it took all of Jason Lyons's skill and tenacity to get past him in this race.

Heat 5 - Lyons v Bunyan v Nermark v ReimaThe flying Daniel Nermark was showing great style here to lead the first bend battle, and to go on to win the race, which was something not even the great Jason Lyons could do anything about.

Heat 9 - Lyons v Bunyan v Stonehewer v WrightCarl Stonehewer shown here having a brief advantage over Jason Lyons, as later in the race Jason would get by to score a heat win.

Heat 11 - Watson v Clews v Nermark v WrightWith Craig Watson (out of picture) behind these three riders, Kauko Nieminen was wrestling with his bike here to fight off the attentions of Paul Clews and Charles Wright. In the end Nieminen had too much to offer and won from Clewsy in second and Wato third.
