panorama-before.jpg

This album depicts the fact that just prior to the digging up of the turf to create the track, markers had been laid down to indicate the cut. The photos can therefore show an indication of how the track may appear when it is constructed.

Ring of Shale - CompleteThe last part of the track to be completed with its allocation of shale was the third bend, closest to the vehicular access point. At present, this access point is in use by plant and machinery, however in time it will be the same as will be used by the ambulance and any other presentational vehicles.

Demountable Stands - Close-upHere is a view that leads one to think that there is room for more stands to be added if there is a demand for them.

Apex of First and Second BendsThe dog track grading tractors currently occupy a parking space right where the speedway tracks apex between the first and second bends will be built. Watch this space, as they say.

4th Bend Gate Posts 2Other than having an alternative route in and out for ambulances, it is up for speculation as to why this construction appears on opposite (and exiting) bends of the track.
pits03.jpg
Pits RoadAccess to the pits will be via a service road behind the back straight, which was being prepared at the time of the photograph. the ground appears to have been cleared and leveled, with a gravel / shale surface to be applied on top.

Welcome to Perry BarrThis is the welcoming view of the Grandstand that will be seen by anyone approaching the stadium from the South Car Park, the bus stops or from the One Stop Car Park.

The door shown here will be the entrance to a foyer in which there will be four admission points for fans to enter the stadium through. The tills there will be for cash admissions, and will operate not too differently to the way they do at Telford for the Ice Speedway Meetings.
stadium08.jpg
Third Bend 2This picture shows the third bend as it sweeps towards its apex. The white marker pegs are in the ground to act as a guide for the contractors. I have taken the liberty to play dot-to-dot to enhance the imaginary line of the track.
stadium_05.jpg
Interior Service GateOne of the final jobs to be done will be the installation of the "interior" Service Gates. Judging by the size, it may have to be a double gate too.

Panorama from inside the Demountable StandsThis is the view as seen out of the demountable stands, of the track and stadium in general. The scaffolding poled holding the roof up are an unfortunate feature, but no doubt when the eye is focussed on the racing, they will hardly be notiiced.Mar 18, 2007

Demountable Stands - The "Neighbours"This view shows that the stands will offer 5 levels of stepped terracing, giving a maximum of 4 ft elebation at the back of the stands.Mar 18, 2007

Demountable Stands - InsideDemountable stands are by their nature, temporary and portable, but in my conversation with the builders in the pits, they have been asked for a quotation to metal-sheet the demountable stands, so who knows, maybe these will be smartened up before too long.Mar 18, 2007

First Bend Demountable StandsAs seen from the 2nd bend hard standing area, the demountable stands can be seen, along with what is possibly room for more stands of the same type...who knows?Mar 18, 2007
