Birmingham were the form team away from home however the encounter at Stoke was going to be a tougher affair than the win at the start of the season, as Stoke were themselves running into a fine spell of form.

the Brummies on the rebound, and with no room for slip-ups. This was the recipe for a conclusive performance and a resounding victory against a team which had a respectable reputation for running top teams close.
