The second leg of the Young Shield Final, and the final meeting of the first season back at Perry Barr for the new Brummies.

Redcar v Birmingham (Away) - 25-10-07

This was the first leg of the Young Shield Final featuring a makeshift Brummies team that had 3 guests in it to cover for the massive injury list. A remarkable match which swung first one way and then the other.

Birmingham v Wolverhampton (Home) - 24-10-07

An end-of-season match up between a Brummies team full of guests and a Wolverhampton team tailored to suit the Premier League standards. Still this was the match that debuted Filip Sitera to the Brummies fans, as a Brummie!

Glasgow v Birmingham (Away) - 14-10-07

Not being able to get the Glasgow fixture run before the end of September cost the Brummies a place in the end of season Play Off's. That fact motivated the Brummies to perform at Glasgow to pour riducule on the Play-Offs system, and to come away from the season as the team with the best away record.

Campaign ArchiveEver since speedway closed at Bordesley Green, the campaign to find an alternative venue continued. Despite some false starts and dashed hopes, and a wait of 23 years, the campaign finally bore fruit. This archive covers some of the correspondence and hard work that went into getting the City of Birmingham to stage speedway again.
